I think I'm going to start keeping a perfume diary. It will be interesting to see what I wear, and why, and how often, and how my impressions change, especially as my BPAL collection grows.
So, yesterday I wore Les Infortunes de la Vertu. It was a second try for me, because while it has notes that I really love (amber, oakmoss, rose), it also has a pretty strong leather note. The first time I wore it all I could smell for about an hour was leather, which wasn't really what I was going for. Yesterday, though, it was much nicer and gentler. The general effect was sort of like being cuddled up next to a guy wearing a leather jacket and later finding that his cologne has rubbed off on you. In my book, this is no bad thing. The only thing that would have made it better is if I had been cured up next to a guy wearing Les Infortunes, but you can't have everything.
Today I wore Two, Five, and Seven, which is pretty much just rose. I love it, but it fades so quickly, and it goes really sweet on me. My most recent order has a different rose in it (The Rose, from Marchen, since I think all of the Mad Tea Party scents are probably on the sweet side), and I'm hoping that will turn out differently.
I'm thinking tomorrow I'll wear Dorian. It was a free sample with my last order, and technically it's a men's scent, but I really like it and it doesn't smell particularly masculine on me.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
