Dec. 14th, 2009 12:25 amIt's time to start thinking about what to plant for spring… still limited by the all-devouring deer and the &@#!% squirrels. Unless it's enclosed by chicken wire or up on the deck where the cats hang out, it's pretty much doomed from the start. Definitely more heartseed vines (some variety of cardiospermum). They were ridiculously easy to grow, and if anyone wants some seeds let me know. The vines are very attractive, with tiny white flowers and lantern/balloon shaped seed-pods, and the seeds themselves have little white heart shapes on them. My one vine yielded up about 30 seeds, and I'm only planning on planting 4 or 5.
